Joy to the world

Today I feel great, even though I'm fighting a cold. Today was unexpectedly a day of many accomplishments, and I don't even feel worn out for the night shift I still have to do in an hour.

I started the morning knowing I have a weekend of night shifts starting tonight, an unfinished album that needs to be done by Tuesday (with pictures still needing to be printed), a defrosted tourtiere to drop off at my son's school for the Christmas lunch today, a Christmas lunch at my son's school to attend today, a floor to sweep, and no contingency plan for Christmas cards this year, since I just found out I won't be able to print out the digi-cards I designed this week (Costco card expired). And I could feel a cold coming on. Then, my sweet husband reminded me we haven't bought anything for our friends' kids across the country yet.

So I got up, did my yoga, dropped off the tourtiere and headed to Wal-Mart (friends' kids toys...check!), Staples (Christmas cards...check!), home (address list for cards...check!) and parked at my son's school. Turned out the lunch was an hour later than I expected so I used the time to walk to the post office (stamps for cards...check!) and was able to write all the ones needing to be mailed, while I sat in the car. Had a nice but crowded as usual Christmas lunch with my boy and his school (check!) and went home. I took a moment to send off some pictures to Wal-Mart for inside the cards and the album I needed to finish (check!) and worked on one of 5 pages for the unfinished album. Then I lost momentum, made myself a Neo-Citran and had a nap (night shift prep...check!) By the time I got up it was dinnertime (love my husband!) and I even had enough time to run out and grab the pics I ordered from Wal-Mart (check!) and finished not only the rest of my Christmas cards after dinner, but the last 5 pages for the now finished album! Whewwwww!!!

Thank you for staying with me this far as I babble on. I have just felt so flustered this last week getting things ready for Christmas and am so glad to have a handle on the big things before I go in for my night shift.

Anyway, one of the pages I finished is a simple take on Mission 0005 for Mission Create:

Looks like I'm a bit past the deadline, but whatever, last month was my turn to win, I just gotta do this for completeness' sake. Love this 70s picture of my mum! Next week is probably going to be quite preoccupied for me but I'll be back soon! Sweet dreams!
