I just turned 32 on Monday. Crazy stuff eh?
I also finished the massive painting project that was our living room and entranceway, which meant that this morning I got to take on the challenge of clearing out all my paint junk and reassembling my non-functional scrap corner, which is now a delightful shade of buttery yellow on one wall and Canadian Flag red on the other. A word of caution: when painting in red, you'll need like 3 times as many coats as you think you'll need. Even with the expensive paint. Come to think of it, didn't I already go through this 3 years ago...?
Anyway, with my corner replenished and conveniently organized, and no more painting jobs to eat up my free time, naturally i had to scrap tonight. So I went ahead with Mission 0013 from Mission To Create:
Mission 0013 included a sketch, woodgrain (i love Cosmo Cricket!), at least 5 red buttons, clouds and twine. I'm happy with this page but wow it sure feels out of my usual repertoire. I don't think I've ever used so much pink all at once. This KI Memories paper has been mine since early 2006 and I was thinking it would never get used. Thank goodness for adorable baby nieces!
Off to bed for me now. Sweet dreams!

Yay Spring
...let's hope it stays!
Here's a new LO for Mission 0012 at Mission to Create. I recognized this month's guest designer Amber as the same one I was a guest designer with on KC way back in the day! Cool eh?
So this time the components were a vintage item, decorative tape, patterned paper background, blue green and brown and a Blue Rodeo album cover as inspiration...it inspired me to remember to scrap those pictures I took of the Blue Rodeo concert me & dh went to on Valentine's Day:
It was also a nifty coincidence that this DCWV rockstar paper I've had for years fit so well into this challenge. Sometimes the perfect opportunity just pops up out of the blue. I also attempted to glimmer mist the "awesome" and of course failed with flying colours. Glimmer mist and I don't get along well. Live and learn.
I'm enjoying plowing through my stash with reckless abandon. No more fears of saving something for the perfect page...the perfect page will never happen if i'm always afraid a better opportunity will come along. Thinking this spring I may have to get my butt out to another scrap expo though...it's been years since i had a good scrapstuff shopping spree. Thanks for looking. Sweet dreams.

Feeling Golden
I know I'm on the other side of the country and all, but still using the momentum from my Olympic high to get me through Spring Break home with The Boy...and also reclaim my scrap mojo from hibernation mode.
First things first. Here's my latest Mission to Create challenge:
Gotta get one in for a shot at February's sweeeeeet kit (yes, I'm aware I've won once already. It's always nice to dream). This month I may or may not have included all the components, since variations just happened as it came together....
The components were birds or butterflies (I got one in, hope that's ok), mostly black and one other colour (it was intended to be black with red but can you blame me for throwing in a little GOLD?), 2 different punches (I punched both the cardstock tags out of a sheet...is that a longshot?), a picture 3 1/2 X 5 or smaller, and torn paper. A fun challenge all round and another chance to scrap some Olympic memories.
Speaking of which, here's a page I did for Layout Tag over at Skrap N' Chat (can't take credit for the design obviously but the theme was my idea. I love experimenting with different takes on "then & now").
And in the spirit of athletic victory, here's a 2-pager on the recent Superbowl festivities I got to be a part of last month.
Thanks for looking! Sweet dreams! Yay Canada!
